Naturally there have been many changes to farming over the last fifty years and the rate of this change has accelerated during the last decade. It could be argued that not all recent changes have improved the lot or the life of the rural people. with this in mind I believe that it is important to record some of the aspects of country living that existed in the two decades following World War 2, in order that later generations may decide whether their current environment is an improvement on what existed before.
