Christchurch 3rd Edition takes you on a visual journey around the earthquake and wildfire impacted city of Christchurch, New Zealand, and surrounding towns, including Kaikoura. 155 full colour images compare how the scenes looked before the disasters, and the transformation it is going through as it recovers and rebuilds.
Deb Donnell shares photographs from key locations around disaster impacted central city of Christchurch, the suburbs of Sumner, New Brighton and Burwood, the towns of Lyttelton, Kaiapoi and Rangiora, and the districts of Darfield and Kaikoura.
Images from before, or immediately after the 2010 Darfield Earthquake, the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake, the 2016 Kaikoura Earthquake, and the Port Hills Wild Fires are paired with updated images taken in 2017 from the same location (or as close as possible to).
Each page gives you the change to see the transformative journey these disaster impacted areas are going through, and to help you remember what has now disappeared. This helps to alleviate feelings of amnesia, and generate the happy memories of nostalgia.
Christchurch 3rd Edition is a must add to Christchurch collections, and share with friends and families.
